# How to Trade
On PolyRanger you trade outcome shares — **YES** or **NO** — on real-world events.
Each share is priced between 0¢ and 100¢, reflecting the market's implied probability
of that outcome. If you're right, each share pays out \$1.00.
Browse markets on the [homepage](https://polyranger.com) using category filters or
search, then click any market card to open the trading view.

## Buy shares — Market order
A Market (Swap) order fills immediately at the best available price.
**1.** Select a **Predict** from the list on the left — the trading panel on the right updates automatically.
**2.** Choose your outcome: **Yes** or **No**. Current prices are shown at the top of the panel (e.g., Yes 6¢ / No 94¢).
**3.** Make sure `Swap / Market` is selected. Enter your **Order Amount (\$)** — the USDC you want to spend. Use the quick buttons (10% / 25% / 50% / 100%) to size relative to your balance.
The **To win** field shows your potential payout. **Avg. price** shows the average price per share after slippage.
**4.** Click `Buy Yes` (or `Buy No`) and sign the transaction in your wallet.
Your shares appear in the **My Positions** tab at the bottom of the page.

## Buy shares — Limit order
A Limit order lets you set the exact price you're willing to pay. It stays open until filled or cancelled.
**1.** Select a Predict and choose your outcome.
**2.** Switch to the `Limit Order` tab.
**3.** Set your **Price** using the adjustment buttons (−100% / −50% / Mid / 50% / 100%) or the **+/−** controls.
**4.** Enter your **Order Amount (\$)**. The **To win** field updates automatically.
**5.** Click `Buy Yes` and sign the transaction.
Your order appears in the **My Orders** tab and stays active until filled or cancelled.

## Sell shares
**1.** Select the Predict you want to exit.
**2.** Click the `Sell Yes` tab in the trading panel.
**3.** Choose the outcome to sell (**Yes** or **No**).
**4.** Enter the number of shares in the **Sell Shares** field, or use the quick buttons (10% / 25% / 50% / 100%). The **To receive** field shows your USDC payout and **Avg. price** shows the effective exit price.
**5.** Click `Sell Yes` and sign the transaction.
You can also sell via Limit Order — switch to the `Limit Order` tab while in Sell mode and follow the same steps as above.

## Track your activity
At the bottom of any market page, three tabs give you a full picture of your activity:
| Tab | What it shows |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **My Positions** | Shares you currently hold for each outcome |
| **My Orders** | Pending limit orders — cancel any open order from here |
| **All History** | Every trade in this market: date, type, price, amount, outcome, maker address |

## Read the market page
The center panel has five tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Summary** | Price history for all Predicts in the Event, color-coded by outcome |
| **Order Book** | Live buy (green) and sell (red) orders, with spread between best bid and ask |
| **Chart** | Detailed price chart for the selected Predict |
| **Rules** | Resolution criteria — the exact conditions for Yes or No |
| **Status** | Current market lifecycle stage |
**Market lifecycle:**

Active → Outcome proposed → No dispute → Final review → Finalized
```
Once **Finalized**, the market is resolved and payouts can be claimed.
